The Summer Trails Traditional Camp Program for children ages 3-14 is the definition of fun! We continue to create new opportunities for our campers to stay involved, have fun with friends, and experience camp to its fullest.

Activities range from group sports, creative arts activities, swimming, and unique games to those that encourage children to express themselves as individuals. Our program is altered daily to emphasize maximum participation and bundles of fun while catering to each group’s dynamics as well as the daily weather. Each and every day at camp is unique and special.

Fun is...

… participation not perfection
… discovering hidden talents
… attempting new things
… unleashing creativity
… exploring nature
… making new friends

Southwoods One Week Sleep Away Camp Program

Summer Trails provides a one week optional sleep away experience to campers age 10-13. Our campers and hand picked staff head to Southwoods located on picturesque Paradox Lake in the Adirondack Mountains for a great week of fun in the sun. Their stay is filled with exciting activities, fun evening programs and new friendships. Whether it is learning to ski behind one of their 5 Ski Nautique power boats, playing tennis with their “Pros” or flying through the air to catch the 45 foot high trapeze off of their “pamper pole”, the Summer Trails group is sure to have a great time and make amazing memories. Just like Summer Trails, Southwoods is dedicated to providing children with a safe, nurturing and fun filled environment to try new things.

Our mature, caring and skilled staff provides campers with an environment that allows them to feel challenged and grow.

Our equipment and programming is diverse in order to be developmentally age appropriate for each child’s skill level, emotional ability, and physical strengths.

"Camp at Summer Trails with all of you has proven to be an amazing experience for Faythe! We cannot adequately convey in words our appreciation for the life changing opportunity she has had sharing in community fellowship with you each day. We have had such peace of mind knowing she is amongst quality staff who raise her up for who she is." - Lisa & Tim, parents of Faythe

Leadership in Training Program

Summer Trails offers a Leadership in Training Program (LIT) to children age 14 who have previously been Summer Trails campers. This program has 3 focal points:

1) leadership training

2) working hands on assisting with a camper group and

3) the opportunity to play.

This program is specifically designed to provide an enriching leadership opportunity while balancing good old camp fun with a chance to demonstrate responsibility. These campers complete the program feeling prepared to be hired as Assistant Counselors the following summer.
